About BELLO Zainab : My community refers to me as "Zainab yar kowa," which translates to "the daughter of everyone," and my name is Zainab Bello. I received the moniker "Zainab yar kawo" in 2014 as a result of my efforts to provide my local community's youth, particularly women, with skills. I am a textile designer, a freelancer, and a craftwoman that engage women within my community to start their own business. My goal is to influence and encourage women to be self-sufficient. I have been passionate about design since the beginning of my degree. My ambition is to explore designs on textile fabric that have communicative element. STATEMENT OF ART:Having graduated with B.A Industrial Design and M.A Industrial Design (textiles), I became a textile designer in Industrial woven textile, surface design and fabric embellishment. To be a textile designer one has to be creative, innovative and have knowledge of colors on fabric. My practice follows a clear aim- to expand the field of textiles. I foresee forming connections with disciplines outside of the field of textiles I have developed passion of studying various indigenous textile clothing by recreating and utilizing their design for contemporary fabric. With these experiences, it will give me a wider horizon to develop my ideas in both designing and content. The fundamental of art is selecting interesting items and creating unique combinations that add value. My secondary message as a textile designer is to extend the life cycle of product, lessen the landfill pressure and promote aesthetic artistic effect. The success of my art collections are overwhelming.
