This mission flows through a dynamic portfolio of multifaceted operations that include Luly Yang Couture, her award-winning fashion house founded in 2000, that specializes in couture red carpet evening wear, bridal, and bespoke suiting; the Luly Yang Design Group that designs and manufactures custom corporate uniforms; and specialty lines featuring luxe accessories and ready-to-wear separates.
The core of all her design decisions is finding strategic solutions that embody the perfect balance between form and function. This foundation provides a unique perspective honed after years of working with countless clients from around the world. Her work is realized through combining her knowledge and experience of intricate couture methods with innovative textiles and techniques.
Raised in a family of artists, architects, and engineers, Luly was exposed at an early age to the fundamentals of design from numerous points of view. Her early years as an architectural graphic designer and fitness instructor have given her a unique perspective on intentional design, the complexity of the human form, and the importance of movement.
As her business continues to expand, Luly continuously references the experiences that helped inform her unique approach to creating designs that, ultimately, embody the purpose of the wearer. Graphic and architectural elements continue to influence her while the main source of inspiration is always the DNA and brand image of her clients.
Throughout her career, Luly Yang has been recognized for her business and philanthropic work. Her honors include the Puget Sound Business Journal's "Women of Influence", Nellie Cashman "Business Woman of the Year", the Hong Kong Association of Washington's "Outstanding Business Leader", The Knot's "Best of Wedding Pick" and Seattle Bride Magazine's "Best Custom Dress Designer" awards.
