About Shinichi Fukui : Shinichi Fukui is a Japanese illustrator. His work is influenced by Ukiyoe by Utamaro Kitagawa and Hokusai Katsushika, and Japanese paintings by Kiyokata Kaburaki and Shinsui Ito. He is also influenced by foreign artists such as David Hockney and Alex Katz. As a result, his work has gained a unique presence and works well in various media. His excellent technique makes the work beautiful and healthy, which is a good answer to the needs of clients. His production method is unique. He use acrylic paints to create his own texture rather than off the shelf digital textures. He took it digitally and he succeeded in creating an ukiyoe like texture. STATEMENT OF ART:Art is an expression of experience, and it is talent that make it an experience. You can understand that by looking at the ukiyoe prints of Hokusai and Utamaro. They convey their experience to us with lines and textures. The excellent expression of ukiyoe and Japanese painting is that it appeals to our right and left brains. The lines emphasize the event and the colors and textures convey the scent of the Edo period. Also, they do not exaggerate their individuality. They knew well that talent and personality were completely different things. They become humble in front of nature and expressed it obediently. I think that such an attitude is very important in production of illustrations and designs.
