My art is about manipulating digital images of photographs based on how images are typically perceived by anyone who looks at them.
I select photographs based not so much on subject matter, but rather on the multiplicity of colors they contain. I then subject them to a unique set of standardized algorithms that I have created.
Each one of these algorithms reduces the initial image down into component parts consisting of select color combinations.
In this way, the viewer can experience the exact same image in a variety of different ways, each way with specific colors purposely highlighted.
The manipulated images can either be viewed at a distance or as close-up magnifications of their component parts.
As in real life, the image variants produced by these reconfiguration processes offer opportunities to see the the same starting point in different depths and details, as well as from different perspectives.
In much the same way as anyone perceives, assesses and evaluates anything in daily life, there are always more sides to the story than one.
Everyone sees life through their own "unique algorithms", and my art represents physical manifestations of that.
