MIXED EXHIBITIONS:
Professor Zhang's work has been extensively exposed worldwide, with over two hundred exhibitions/publications in more than forty countries across five continents. Zhang has exhibited in all the six world’s most important poster biennales and triennials: Warsaw (Poland), Fort Collins (USA), Mexico City (Mexico), Moscow (Russia), Trnava (Slovakia), and Sofia (Bulgaria). In addition, Zhang has been invited to exhibit alongside a small select group of highly accomplished designers like Paula Scher, “one of the most influential graphic designers in the world”, who has designed The Museum of Modern Art logo, The Metropolitan Opera identity, the New York City Ballet identity, and Microsoft: Windows 8 logo, and Davis Paul, who has created illustrations for Life, Time, The New Republic, New York, The New York Times, The New Yorker, Disney, Lincoln Center, McKinsey & Co. Rolling Stone, Yahoo, Adobe, and A&E Television. Such invitations underscore Zhang's standing and reputation within the design field.
EVENTS:
• Juror of many Design Competitions. One competition offered a "Total of One Million Prizes," with a prestigious panel, including "The Father of Industrial Design in China".
• Recognition in the Women Poster Designers of the World Exhibition as one of the thirty-one selected women poster designers of the world, and the only one from the USA.
• Over 100 Keynote, Planetary, and Invited Talks. Some notable mentions are The Boundaries of Vision (China), the Design Forum (UK), the Design Marathon (60000+ Live Jam Views), and the Design Nation: Transformations ( Business Today, Princeton University).
• Curator of multiple international exhibitions. ex: UK, China, USA
AWARDS:
Zhang has also been recognized with over 50 significant design awards such as the First Prize in Domtar Creative Awards (The only first prize over all categories), The World’s Most Memorable Poster Competition’s Top One Award in the USA, the Award of Design Excellence in Print (20,000 entries), Second Prize in the Computer Space (0.5%), Gold Medal Award in Creativity, and several Gold Awards in Graphis (“honor the very best in Design on a global scale.”). More than seventy of Zhang’s works are in prestigious permanent collections including the Library of Congress (Washington, D.C.), the Zürich Museum of Design (Switzerland), the Victoria & Albert Museum (UK), Imperial War Museum (UK), the Ogaki Poster Museum (Japan), and the Lahti Poster Museum (Finland).
