About Dolores Browne : Most architects think the Trigen Lily Steam Pipe Cover was Dolores Browne's major project. Even though she created new art, her restorations of old important buildings were important. Two of them are in the list of Historic Buildings in Philadelphia, Pa in USA. One was the Victory Building, a cast iron building, dated 1873, in the downtown and the other was the first brewery in Philadelphia in the Fairmount Section near the Philadelphia Art Museum. The Battles Flower Shop was purchased in 1979. Dolores called it Titantic Architecture, one of its kind, restored and kept occupied as many restaurants came and went until 2008 when she sold it. Now destroyed. STATEMENT OF ART:I think of myself as a functional designer as I put my attention on quality durable materials that lasts a lifetime. Researching the best answer to each project, using artist craftsman and solo overseeing their work. During the years of interior design, I always added custom works, what I call my art, whether it was a bed, a table, a light, a sofa, it was my creation that worked within the interiors or exteriors. Sometimes, I would custom design the complete environment. Clients loved me because I would design them this unique image that was practical, easy to clean and well organized to handle their needs. Good design is an art.
