View Larger Image and Additional Photos of Locus Xiaotong ChenAbout Locus Xiaotong Chen : Locus Xiaotong Chen (b. 1996 Beijing, China) is a New York based artist who engages with various fine art media to explore the potency of self and artistic expressions — printmaking, papermaking, installation, book arts, collage, assemblage, and fiber arts. She explores the language of materiality and media. Hybridizing the nostalgia for eastern aesthetics, and logistics from western art institutions, her work traverses fluidly between art & craft, nature & artifact, personal & universal.
Chen graduated from Pratt Institute with a BFA in Printmaking in 2019. Her work has been exhibited within the states in New York and Ohio, Maryland and internationally in Milan, Italy. Chen had her first solo show, Ode to Osedax, with LATITUDE Gallery in 2020.
