It is a balance between the function and the form which involves empathizing with a context and then helping improve that context. Design can be applied in various aspects of everyday life to reduce the complexities and make it simple, keeping the end user in mind.

Is a way to express one’s emotion, expression or a story. It doesn’t necessarily follow constraints or can rather be flamboyant in its expression. It follows it own path and can be expressed in any medium as per the Artist.
