About Fedra Eira : Fedra Eira is an illustrator and Textile designer from Buenos Aires, Argentina. STATEMENT OF ART:In 2015 she obtained a scholarship to go to complement her design studies in Mexico City. In that year living there, he discovered that what most fills his soul is traveling, meeting new people, trying typical foods. For that reason, when he returned to Argentina he created his Textile Design brand. In "Textil Nómada", he managed to unite his passion with his profession, creating the famous "scarf with stories". The illustrations makes on textile are inspired by her travels, traditions, legends and landscapes of the places visited by the author. "At this time I realized that many people felt identified with the stories of textiles, that I came to the conclusion that I would not be able to categorize my products to a specific field: there are those who buy textiles as accessories but then end up framing them as paintings "- explains Fedra. For these reasons, in 2019 he was started to go further and opened himself to the world of art, and made his first textile art exhibitions. They were not only "put in colored scenes" but a playful interaction with the public. In the year 2020 it is projected to make textile exhibitions in different parts of Argentina and Mexico. On the other hand, he wants to expand his project to another level and generate visual and playful transmissions creating "a Latin American collective imaginary." I think that both art and design fulfill fundamental roles for today's society. While both the artist and the designer were important throughout history, I believe that today they are the main communicators of information. In a world where almost nobody reads, where all the information is visual and fast, which only lasts 24 hours in an Instagram story, it seems that you need to create a visual and creative impact communication to reach users and raise awareness on important issues. The paradigm shift produced worldwide in recent years, has arisen mainly from the critical situation in which the planet is found due to the irrational use and exploitation of natural resources. The concern of the human being arises to protect his environment, his future and, therefore, himself. In this regard, it seems fundamental to me to stop talking about art and design as separate disciplines. In my opinion both are social communicators, and both artists and designers must work interdisciplinarily with other professions to create creative and practical social solutions.
