About Mariana Prestes : I have over 10 years experience working in advertising, communication, retail, design and my own studio. In all my positions I’ve always been focusing on creativity with personality and quality to deliver customer well-being through applied art on any surface, especially fabric, wallpaper and porcelain. In December 2015 was my transition from advertising to design: I launched my surface design brand with an authorial collection called “Yellow Cardinal” inspired by a Brazilian endangered bird species. From then on, I develop pattern design with the theme of endangered nature, and other themes as the client needs, always from paintings and illustrations that I do manually with various techniques, but watercolour is my expertise. The advertising agency experience has made me passionate about relationships with people, listening to their needs, paying attention to consumer behaviour, giving good service. Today I add that experience to design to deliver a high-quality surface pattern that has a history and concept behind it to bring joy, love and well-being along with elegance. My aspiration is to get involved in the cause of preserving the environment and at the same time bring love, joy, beauty and knowledge to people through my work. And to give a greater voice to this cause, I would love to be part of an international team contributing brands and companies with my artistic work.
STATEMENT OF ART:
My author's collections have a purpose: to alert to the risk of extinction of species of fauna and flora. Birds, flower and insect have already been welcomed by a creative and loving vein with the particular nature of my region, the South of brazil.
Through art and design it realizes its purpose of drawing attention and giving voice to the species of fauna and flora at risk of being banished from the planet. My copyrighted collections have in DNA the concern to give visibility to the cause of nature by choosing as inspirations the species most at risk of disappearing from the natural environment to prevent this from occurring.
As soon as my work was discovered by the academic universe of my State, I conquered the partnership of the main universities that have nuclei of research and documentation Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) and Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS), which has important fieldwork, welcomed my the art and design considering that it consists of a window to the world of the its preservationist effort, previously confined to the academic world. In this way, I already participated in an international event inside the university to present their case.

Design along with art should bring knowledge and well-being and perhaps a change in consciousness and behavior in people, making life, coexistence and the environment even better.
