I’ve struggled almost my entire life with a disease that has torn me down, made me feel weak and small, made me feel bad and like a freak. All I’ve ever wanted to do was find ways to make other kids and teenagers and adults with skin diseases feel beautiful. Find a way to make them feel good about themselves, feel confident, to know they are amazing and have overcome so much stuff in life that many will never even come close to. To make them want to stand out in the world and not hide in the background. To know they are special, unique, wonderful, beautiful.
STATEMENT OF ART:Art and design for me personally is about being expressive. For me it’s making a statement. It’s about being confident and proud of who you are. It’s showing you love yourself and you’re proud of who you have become and what you can accomplish. It’s not being afraid to show yourself, it’s standing out. Standing in the front line, feeling beautiful about yourself. It’s not letting life and society tear you down or make you feel less.
