View Larger Image and Additional Photos of Terence WongAbout Terence Wong : My design principle is “form follow function”, which is an architect theory but it inspired my interior design thinking. One of the reason that it inspired me a lot is because I live in Hong Kong, a small lovely city with a huge number of population, the housing prices continued to go through the roof. The flat prices are trending upwards every year, therefore it is so important to plan and use each inch of space in my home town.
That’s one of my reason to create Pi Concept Design Company Limited with my partner Jackal Leung in 2015. Pi (Greek letter “π”) means: 3.1415926… I really love this symbol, its represent my design thinking is endless and my design pieces are eternal, perfectly, precisely like a circle. That is my taste of design, to be always open to the newness and significance of each moment. I hope my design piece can help my client to love every single moment and every corner in their home. Love yourself, enjoy your life.
All things in nature have a shape, same for a shelf, cabernet or a side table, etc. The appearance of the furniture reflect its actual function, form and function are one. I won’t design something that is looking good ONLY, it will also has it special meaning, it unique design and function. The furniture shape is not simply following the interior design style, it is also telling you a story, talking about the person who is living in that house or apartment, that’s my design. Every single design or project of mine is a unique piece, I won’t repeat my design or my creation, I never felt bored.
