After studying design, the overall perspective towards the Crafts and art of India which are fighting to survive in this modern world of machines has changed. He is using his knowledge to transform the face of crafts by studying and documenting them which in reverse helping him to create some sustainable yet contemporary products by keeping the essence and soul of crafts. As an attempt to bring back the dying craft of creating handmade products from sikki or golden grass found in the wet and marshy area of Madhubani district, Bihar, Kumar has developed a series of baskets, plates, trays and bowls.
STATEMENT OF ART:Design is a way of living. In local language, it's called "JUGAD" which means a very local and flexible approach to solve any problem by using limited resources in very innovative way.
