She graduated from Dokuz Eylül University, Graphic Department in 1999. In 2001, she completed her master's thesis in the same department. She has worked on the graphic design, illustration, animation and similar works for many publishing houses and design studios, and has participated in national and international festivals with her short animated film. Between 2006-2008, she delivered illustration courses at Başkent University, Faculty of Design and Architecture. In 2007, she was admitted to Hacettepe University Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Graphic Art, Proficiency Program. Between 2008 and 2011, she was assigned to work in the same institution. She graduated in 2011 with her doctorate / artistic proficiency thesis on “science books for the children with the illustration“. She wrote in Graphic Design Magazine between 2011-2015. To start working as an assistant professor in 2012 and as an associate professor in 2016, she has been working at the Graphic Design department since 2013. Dag wrote many articles related to illustration field, participated in national and international exhibitions, leaded many workshops in different universities, and she has plenty of books published that she illustrated or designed. Recently she published her book titled "The Second Golden Age of Illustration", which quickly became a resource in the field of illustration in 2015. Elif Songur Dağ is married, a child and two cats mother.
