About Laurence Broydé : Graduate of ÉSAD ORLÉANS (École Supérieure of Art and Design) in Graphic Design, and having continued this studies at the HEAR in Strasbourg (Higher School of Rhine Arts), his artistic research weaves links, for more than 15 years, between the visual arts, crafts and graphic design - so many practices specialists who meet only very rarely. At the crossroads of different mediums (drawing, technique, crochet, sculpture, installation ...), his work tests the specific to various aesthetic fields and invites to a direct relationship with the actors present during of the exhibition. She produces a combinatorial work in which the different media interact with each other other. Here, the relation of the body of the work to that of spectator composes a living, meaningful interface, and even performative. She realizes in particular Wall Drawings or Paintings to experiment in situ. His installations offer the viewer immersive experiences, creates deformations optics by forms, perspective, and mediums. Graphic designer since 1998, I have always developed an artistic practice in parallel. This practice feeds my work and my work feeds this practice. I do not envision graphics without art, these two aspects feed and allow me to develop close links between art and design, to free myself from the limits of the useful and the pleasant. For several years I reconsider the object sculptural with the practice of crochet, using voluntarily contradictory materials with the medium: the textile thread and the hook allow a slow volume development, and a possibility of forms infinite, defying the very physics of the material first. Ideally, the forms produced are inhabited physically (series of sculptures to wear, 2017, work in progress…). like so many potential objects usable, exploitable, and experimenting: each of them, hinders the view, modifies the gesture of the one or who wears it (spectators, performers, dancers ...),causing the person to literally experience the form, to become the actor.
