António Adauta started working as an artisan in 1990 when student in Coimbra. I “rediscovered” the mosaics of Conímbriga and I adapted his patterns to create an Arraiolos stitch framed handmade embroidery.
For about three years I worked on the elaboration of “master patterns” and the handcrafting of 16 prototypes.
In 1992, the Secretary of State for Culture approved a “manifesto of cultural interest” for this project and, as such, is sponsorable. Also, in 1992 I started my economic activity.
In 2016 he opened a digital store (e-commerce) on my website.
In 2022 he joined Homo Faber Guide - The Michelangelo Foundation.
In addition to Arraiolos stitch framed handmade embroidery he manufacture Arraiolos stitch embroidery – details of the first ones – still framed; MiniatuRugs with thinner threads in linen to decorate Dolls' Houses; he also manufacture the Minotaur mosaic in Arraiolos rug and in Author's Essay – silkscreen personalized by the author.
