EXPERIENCE:
Katia and Morgana Moraes Studio has been acting in Brazil for more than 20 years with architecture, interior design and furniture. The company bears the name os sisters and partners, Katia Moraes, interior and furniture designer; and Morgana Moraes, architect.

The main feature of the pieces they create is a contemporary design which refers to the cultural diversity of Brazil. Aware of the interference that the production of pieces of furniture exerts on the environment, Katia and Morgana Moraes only work with certificated timber and sustainable raw material and quality.
The last result of the partnership between the sisters is the Athos Table, launched in September 2016, in Casa Cor Brasilia, an annual event that brings together renowned architects, designers and landscapers. It was inspired by the Sculptural Wall, the work os Brazilian artist Athos Bulcao which is exhibited in the Chamber of Deputies in Brasilia, capital of Brazil. As an homage to the artist, the piece from sisters Katia and Morgana received support from Athos Bulcao Foundation (www.fundathos.org.br), nonprofit institution that administers the works and the copyright os the artist.
The Athos Table is an innovative product in the market for its design and differentiated shape, for its functionality combined with beauty, but, mainly, for its added value, to be inspired by the Sculptural Wall, by Athos Bulcao. The idea is offer fans of the artist the feeling of having his work indoors, without leaving aside the sophistication and elegance of the rooms. The collection is comprised os three tables, in olive green, white and cobalt blue and Ironwood blades. They were made so that walls, rooms and even the floor around can be seen through cutouts and the leaked elements of the table. This idea follows the concept used by Bulcao when he made the Sculptural Wall: he wanted that the tile Panel and the landscaping of Roberto Burle Marx, who are in the same room in the Chamber Deputies, could be seen through the wall.

Katia Moraes - Since she was a teenager she already showed interest for the from, function and beauty of the pieces of furniture. At that time, Katia loved making projects to her parents house.
