About Maureen Vorswijk : Maureen Vorswijk is a jewelry designer with a background in theater. She attended the School for Arts, HKU in Utrecht, the Netherlands, following the course Architecture and Furniture Design and she attended the HMC, School for Furniture Design in Amsterdam. When she received an offer to join the theatre to gain working experience in the wardrobe and props department she decided to pursue this adventure. After 8 exciting years in theater, Maureen decided to make a career switch and she chose for her first love, jewelry for women. To learn the techniques to be a goldsmith, she attended the Zadkine, the School for Goldsmithing in Schoonhoven.

Maureen doesn't follow any particular style, thoughts or rules, she has created her own individual style. She draws inspiration mostly from images of ancient times seeking their way through her mind into her hands. Art, photography, childhood memories, her trips to Surinam and Nigeria and her personal transformation play an important role in the designing process as well. When designing jewelries the only feeling she always strives for is to create that piece of couture jewelry that accentuates women's beauty and her inner strength.

Maureen launched her first collection Afrik & Silver in 2012 during LFW. Other collections launched by the designer are My Alter Ego, My Treasure Bracelets and Swords. The collections are all inspired by her first collection Afrik & Silver.

In 2015 Maureen launched a new collection named ''Dolls Project.'' The collection includes beautiful handcrafted jewelry for fashion dolls. These jewelries are miniatures inspired by some of her existing handcrafted pieces for women. Her daughter Oyin and designer of the Oyin Loves collection has played a major role in the development of this collection. The idea to design jewelry for dolls came from her daughter, who loved dressing her dolls up nicely but could not find jewelries she really liked for her dolls. She turned to her mother with the question if she could make some nice jewelries for her dolls.
The idea to design a jewelry collection for fashion dolls came soon after. Since 2018 Maureen has added handcrafted, metal custom corsets and headpieces to her collection.

Her work has been seen on celebrities and published in multiple international magazines.
