Profile: Ashleen Castillo Cruz

About Ashleen Castillo Cruz : My name is Ashleen Castillo Cruz and I'm 26 years old. A proud Latina raised in Puerto Rico. I grew up surrounded by creativity and culture. From an early age, I got involved in the arts, dance, theater, and school fashion shows. I enjoyed drawing, painting and de-constructing clothes to create other things. Fashion has always been my passion and during my internship in Guatemala, I found my purpose within my work. I discovered that my commitment is to the community, understanding that my job as a designer, through fashion, seeks to share the passion for Creation, its functions and what we learn from it. Creating experiences that connect us with our essence and embraces the work of each human being. Planting seeds of value, creating towards a culture of appreciation, responsibility, and principles, valuing the time and space that has been given to us in this world. Growing every day with the opportunity to have a positive impact on society, understanding that my motivation and the raw material is people. It inspires me to know that our creativity is able to make a statement and transform.
