She pursued her further education in art and interior design at the sir. J.J school ooh art in Mumbai. She passed out with a for plans in furniture design . Stage Craft and interior design. She worked for a year at the famous interior design form in Mumbai and then started her own form at the age of 20 to design offices apartments for multi Nationals like diamond trading corporation. Hindustan Diamond. Swissair creat Tues etc.
While in college ,won the best sketches from lalit kala academy . Mumbai.
Awarded by the president of India in a computer exhibition he best designed stall for Tata Burrough s in New Delhi..
Got married to Pravinsinh Ghatge and shifted to Kolhapur.
Started painting after several trips to Africa
First solo exhibition in Mumbai 1996.
Painting selected by the Bombay art society 104 all India art exhibition 1996.
Painting selected for the woman's show. jahangir art gallery.Mumbai.
She restarted her interior practice in Ernest with her brother Rajesh Achrekar .a design studio called kagal craft.whete we restore antique architectural salvage.artefacts and lights.
Designed an 5 bedroom lodge with the help of a South African architect Corna visage of Kroonstaad.
Have since designed a lot of small cafes and apartments.
She runs a private beach homestay on the konkan coast which is also on Airbnb..known as Villa padavne by the sea.
She has travelled widely in Africa .Europe.Australia.
United States Argentina Chile and Brazil.
She is currently also helping a research on the Ghatge family history which goes back to the 14 th century.

It is so exciting to be able to create an reality from a abstract picture to a object or space everyone can experience. Design is a universal language that had no barriers of race Creed or language. One can draw influences from travel art music and nature.. It's infinite in it's scope and that what I love about it.. It's never ending experience. Creating an utopian world with exotic influences and exploring. The total experience !
