EDUCATION:
I hold a bachelor's degree in Product Design from UNIJUI - Regional University of Northwestern State of Rio Grande do Sul (2004), a specialization in Graphic Expression from PUCRS - Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (2006), a master's degree in Engineering (concentration area: Science and Technology of Materials) from UFRGS - Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (2008), and a Ph.D. in Engineering (concentration area: Science and Technology of Materials), also from UFRGS. Additionally, I earned an International Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from UPC - Polytechnic University of Catalonia (2016) and completed a Post-Doctoral research program in Design at PUCRJ - Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro.
EXPERIENCE:
Currently, I serve as a Professor of Product Design, Design, and Materials Engineering at the University of Vale do Rio dos Sinos (UNISINOS). I coordinate the technological undergraduate program in Product Design and the Creative Industry Laboratories at the Porto Alegre campus/Fablab Unisinos Poa. My expertise lies in Product Design, with a focus on materials selection, life cycle assessment, sustainability, industry 4.0, and additive manufacturing/3D printing.
AWARDS:
1st Place Abiplast Design Award - Student Category from Abiplast - Brazilian Association of Plastic Industry, 2006. Finalist in the Innovation Competition in Architecture, Design, and New Technologies for People with Special Needs, HANDITEC - Paris/France, 2006. 2nd place (silver) student Bornancini Design Award - Product Design Category (coordinator), 2022. Finalist in the 1st Iberoamerican Material Selection Challenge, ANSYS | Engineering Simulation Software, 2022.
