About Diane Clay : Diane Clay is an Afro-American woman who is gifted in art and design who loves to help people. Wanting to be a fashion designer and artist has been a dream from her youth. Diane sees her inspiration in design and art in a spiritual sense as God given. Through the many major ups and downs in her life, she contributes to society through giving back from her gratitude to Jesus for helping her through a time when she became homeless and had to live in a downtown Los Angeles shelter for eight months. It was there in 2011, that she saved money to start The Fishermen's Net LLC. STATEMENT OF ART:Until she actually starts her business, she volunteers as an English tutor for non-English speaking residents living in shelters but her desire and goal is to one day have a successful design company that can help homeless women in shelters obtain employment. Diane's Fishermen's Net designs are a line of women's swim wear, women's wear and accessories that are daring, bold, exotic, provocative, contemporary, individualistic, free spirited and leans towards the edge of Bohemian style. Artistically, the designs conform and work with the body as an abstract painting on canvas utilizing space and form. Diane decided years ago to fabricate her designs from animal prints and faux furs in recognition of global animal reserves. As an innately creative person I view art and design from the same perspective because I have a passion for both. Art to me is a form of expression and how I want to convey that expression to a viewer has to do with a connection between myself and the viewer without even expressing a word. If a viewer can feel what I feel and see what I see in design or art then I have accomplished the goal of bringing another soul into my world.
