STATEMENT OF ART: Everyday events, politics, her friends and family directly inspire the work she does. Cordula works in many different mediums and likes to be open to the creative process. She will work with whatever material seems appropriate and right. And if that means she would have to learn a new tool or technique, well, so be it. Cordula has been exploring art through the different mediums and techniques of sculpture, photography, printmaking, glassblowing, cold working, and computer arts, each one of them intriguing her in their own way. Cordula’s artwork is very personal and visualizes her feelings, emotions, and thoughts. But because she is an active member of this society and so many of her feelings and thoughts seem to be shared by others, her art becomes more of a social statement. Sometimes others see Cordula’s art as controversial even offensive, but the artist believes it is important to be open to other peoples' opinions and engage in dialog.
