Interview with Huo Kai at Saturday 17th of March 2018 FS: Could you please tell us about your experience as a designer, artist, architect or creator? HK: In 2005, I graduated from Luxun Academy of Fine Arts in China and became a professional teacher of design. FS: How did you become a designer? HK: I like to design sense transmission, and have been devoted to professional learning and practice. FS: What are your priorities, technique and style when designing? HK: Before the design, the in-depth investigation of the needs to do the project, in - depth communication with the customer, and actively organize the design team to participate in the design. FS: Which emotions do you feel when designing? HK: Great interest and enthusiasm for new projects and things. FS: What particular aspects of your background shaped you as a designer? HK: The special aspect is the foundation of the art specialty and the study of the professional art foundation. FS: What is your growth path? What are your future plans? What is your dream design project? HK: My design dream is to participate in big project design, build a student team, and get a larger design award. FS: What are your advices to designers who are at the beginning of their career? HK: Study hard and unremittingly, not to give up the designer's dream. FS: You are truly successful as a designer, what do you suggest to fellow designers, artists and architects? HK: Go out and take a look and see the world is much better. FS: What is your day to day look like? HK: I am a judge, a designer, a design teacher, a professor, a dean today. FS: How do you keep up with latest design trends? To what extent do design trends matter? HK: More participation in international design exhibition and exchange, more understanding of the design preface, focus on the focus of design. FS: How do you know if a product or project is well designed? How do you define good design? HK: Good design is highly functional and highly aesthetic. FS: How do you decide if your design is ready? HK: Constantly improve the design works, meet the requirements of the customers, and their own high requirements. FS: What is your biggest design work? HK: My most satisfactory design is a design for international awards. FS: Who is your favourite designer? HK: The most admired designer is Japanese designer Fukuda Shigeruo. FS: Would you tell us a bit about your lifestyle and culture? HK: My life style and culture are hard work, and I talk with designer friends to talk about the design. FS: Would you tell us more about your work culture and business philosophy? HK: Finish the job efficiently and quickly, and have more time to do more. FS: What are your philanthropic contributions to society as a designer, artist and architect? HK: I designed a large number of public service advertising works, used in the outdoor, magazine and other media, appeals to the people to pay attention to the society and to pay attention to nature. FS: What positive experiences you had when you attend the A’ Design Award? HK: Before I participated in this award, I participated in a large number of international design awards and won the awards. Have done a lot of international judges.
