Interview with Di Wei at Thursday 4th of July 2024 FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer? DW: I graduated from Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in China, majoring in design, specializing in communication design and book layout art. I am good at using natural simplicity and plants and other color elements to create works with unique artistic influence, and actively study digital expression; it is my teacher who made me become a designer, thanks to the teacher's teaching, and I will continue to walk on this path! FS: What is "design" for you? DW: For me, design is the expression of beautiful things, design serves society, and design is simple but powerful, able to convey a certain message FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most? DW: I like to design with texture and higher purity color palettes, with simple and clean but digital shapes. FS: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it? DW: I like Mr. Kenya Hara's design and Musashino University's style. FS: What is your favorite material / platform / technology? DW: My favorite materials are glass and plant fibers, which make me feel connected to ecology and design, and transparent undulating glass can be combined to create a variety of art.
