FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
GH: Yes, I always wanted to be a designer, since I was little, I was always very visual, tidying the house was my favorite game, I always liked animals too, but I ended up opting for design, and later, architecture.

FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
GH: My office is 12 years old this year, as soon as I graduated in Interior Design, I opened my office and started studying Architecture. After that, I started working in both areas, also working on architectural and urban projects.

FS: What is "design" for you?
GH: Design is a creative process that seeks the best solution for a project. A good design meets people's needs, with functionality, affordable cost, good taste and financial and environmental sustainability, bringing more quality of life to people. Design and innovation are almost always linked.

FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most?
GH: I like to Design facades of buildings, houses and interiors.

FS: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?
GH: Its Riverside 01 Facade.

FS: What was the first thing you designed for a company?
GH: Recreation area of a residential building

FS: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?
GH: I love ACM, Natural Wood, Natural Rocks, solar energy...

FS: When do you feel the most creative?
GH: When I travel to discover new cultures.

FS: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?
GH: Its functionality.

FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?
GH: I feel excited.

FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized?
GH: I feel very excited.

FS: What makes a design successful?
GH: The energy and work you put into it.

FS: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?
GH: Creative process and consistency.

FS: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?
GH: Think about future generations while designing.

FS: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?
GH: The future of design is sensorial, the fact is that we are visual beings and will always be, but as long as we add to our solutions different ways of exploring the potential of each of the senses, we will stay ahead in the race for differentiation in the saturated market, whatever the scenario is.

FS: When was your last exhibition and where was it? And when do you want to hold your next exhibition?
GH: It was at Casacor SC, in 2019, it was a library called Books and Art. I would like to hold my next one at Casacor SP.

FS: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?
GH: My design inspirations come from my travels, the courses I take, the fairs and exhibitions I attend, my inspiration comes from all over the world and its different cultures.

FS: How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design?
GH: I don't have a defined style, my design is plural and it relates a lot to the phase I'm living during the development of each project.

FS: Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?
GH: I live in Brazil, on a small beach, in the south of the country, where there has been a lot of development in the field of civil construction. Being in Brazil contributes a lot to my projects, as it is a country with very creative minds and culturally rich.

FS: How do you work with companies?
GH: My relationship with companies has always been very good, of mutual exchange and constant learning.

FS: What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer?
GH: The company's proposal must match the designer's purposes.

FS: Can you talk a little about your design process?
GH: My creative process is based on stepping out of the ordinary, out of the conventional.

FS: What are 5 of your favorite design items at home?
GH: My Hug, pieces of art, bathroom sink, bar, design armchair

FS: Can you describe a day in your life?
GH: I have no routine, my days are intense and creative.

FS: Could you please share some pearls of wisdom for young designers? What are your suggestions to young, up and coming designers?
GH: Be original.

FS: From your perspective, what would you say are some positives and negatives of being a designer?
GH: I love being a designer and architect.

FS: What is your "golden rule" in design?
GH: Be original.

FS: What skills are most important for a designer?
GH: Creativity, curiosity and hard work.

FS: Which tools do you use during design? What is inside your toolbox? Such as software, application, hardware, books, sources of inspiration etc.?
GH: Papper and pencil. Thirst things thirst.

FS: Designing can sometimes be a really time consuming task, how do you manage your time?
GH: I don't manage my time, I really like the concept of Slow Design, for that, I make sure to be always earlier with my projects so I can make time to really get in to it.

FS: How long does it take to design an object from beginning to end?
GH: I don't design objects, I design buildings and interiors, its about three months to design that.

FS: What is the most frequently asked question to you, as a designer?
GH: How can you do that?

FS: What was your most important job experience?
GH: To work with big Constructions Companies.

FS: Who are some of your clients?
GH: Constructions Companies.

FS: What type of design work do you enjoy the most and why?
GH: Facade projects, because you can change all the style of the building, giving life to what is boring.

FS: What are your future plans? What is next for you?
GH: Keep learning and doing my best.

FS: Do you work as a team, or do you develop your designs yourself?
GH: I do both.

FS: Do you have any works-in-progress being designed that you would like to talk about?
GH: I have many, but RIVERSIDE 01, is the one in my mind right now.
