FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
DZ: I come from Nanjing, China and have studied art since childhood. When I was a child, I won many important student awards in art, such as the gold award of sketch group in Jiangsu cross-strait youth calligraphy and painting competition, the silver award of sketch in Jiangsu "south of colorful clouds" Youth Calligraphy and painting competition, the bronze award of the first China and Singapore calligraphy and painting competition in Jiangsu Province, the New Artist Award in Jiangsu division of the national new talent promotion competition in 2009 and the ten excellent awards in the next year. I am a person with high requirements for logical thinking, and I am also a very willful person. When I choose a major for my undergraduate course, I have a little hesitation about the major of art and painting, so I completely put down painting and chose industrial design. At present, I am studying for a doctorate in design from the school of computer science, Zhejiang University.
FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
DZ: I am a doctoral student in design. I am engaged in research on intelligent design, art design, design evaluation and so on.
FS: What is "design" for you?
