FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
YK: I studied ceramic design at Ishoken in Tajimi Japan for 2years.I spent a year researching my own style of ceramic designs in the institute's ceramics laboratory course.
FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
YK: Studio Cúze are ceramic studio. However, We will be use other materials in near future. I‘m saying we apply artisanal expertise & design thinking to develop & create crafts, products & art for contemporary times.
FS: What is "design" for you?
YK: The act of putting something in the right place.
FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most?
YK: I like in between rough idea and making prototypes. because It is like the moment when a vision takes shape.
FS: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?
YK: It is a timeless thing.
FS: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?
YK: Ceramics, Wood
FS: When do you feel the most creative?
YK: When I am making things with my hands and deepening my thoughts。
FS: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?
YK: Harmony of material properties and function. Inclusion of something that surprises the user.
FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?
YK: It makes me calm.
FS: What makes a design successful?
YK: Keep challenging.
FS: When was your last exhibition and where was it? And when do you want to hold your next exhibition?
YK: It was at The Makers Show Super Salone 2021 Milan. I'll have an exhibition in this May in Berlin.
FS: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?
YK: I don't know where they are hiding. I‘ll walk all over.
