FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
HKY: In my high school, I studied Visual Design from a technical school until I changed to Urban and Landscape Design in college and then to Architecture and Interior in graduate school, and I always advocated hand-painted technology in my schooling days.

FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
HKY: Although the company has been in business for five years, as an operator of the company, we attach great importance to every design case. How to achieve harmony between users and nature is our most important belief.

FS: What is "design" for you?
HKY: Design is not art, but it also includes the connotation of art, which I refer to practical operation. To put it bluntly, design is a process of solving problems, but it covers beauty and function.

FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most?
HKY: Residence is the closest to everyone's life, and I quite like residence design.

HKY: To achieve a balance between man and nature while meeting the needs of customers

FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized?
HKY: When the work is completed, we will be full of touch and sense of accomplishment

FS: What makes a design successful?
HKY: Understand human nature, A good design lies in being able to listen to the needs of users and propose solutions that are better than the needs.

FS: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?
HKY: Create better things and make people live in harmony with nature

FS: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?
HKY: This part is a bit extreme, partly we need to get in touch with different people and things and experience different life styles, partly we need to calm down and listen to our own beliefs.

FS: Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?
HKY: I live in Taiwan. Our culture must have an influence on our design, especially Zen. The blank space is a kind of poetic space. In Taiwan, customers like to direct designers to make some non-professional suggestions. This part is Where Taiwan's design environment needs to be worked harder.
