Interview with Bachelor of Media at Friday 19th of February 2021

FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
BOM: I was a kid in the fourth grade of primary school The teacher asked us to draw paintings to participate in the school exhibition So I went to our neighbor, and he drew two paintings for me, and when the professor saw these works, he asked me for more, so I went back to our neighbor, and I found that he had traveled and I feared that the professor would get angry at me. I did not find another solution except that I started drawing. The school and after that, I graduated in learning arts such as calligraphy and others, and then I learned design by computer in 1992

FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
BOM: My dream was to become a private studio in print design that came true after many years of working for others And I chose a name for it that I have been thinking of for many years, which is the name of Art Technology

FS: What is "design" for you?
BOM: Design, for me, is the art of practicing and enjoying whenever you produce a new painting and enjoy more whenever you create something new

FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most?
BOM: I love heritage and lettering works, and I love designing visual identity for companies, and I have been creative in this field

FS: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?
BOM: I love works that are about interesting paintings and beauty, what increases life, the splendor of working in color. Very very much I find myself in privacy with colors I enjoy working with it and forget my worries and forget my time and forget the world around me

FS: What was the first thing you designed for a company?
BOM: The first thing I designed was a poster for a charity in the Emirates, and the poster called for help for the poor. I designed it by drawing by hand and executed by drawing with an Airbrush pen. I learned this art during a course in the Cultural Foundation in Abu Dhabi and I got an amount for this poster The fare was $ 750 that was great

FS: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?
BOM: My favorite is a Macintosh computer, primarily Adobe programs, and printing on canvas As well as drawing colors directly on the gran and on the canvas

FS: When do you feel the most creative?
BOM: When the work is creative and new, without restrictions or conditions And whenever there are challenges, the more fun

FS: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?
BOM: Focusing on the message required of the design to deliver it to the target or the client

FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?
BOM: Fun and eagerness for the next job, especially if the job is not traditional

FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized?
BOM: I feel joy and thank God who taught me this art, and from my joy I like to teach this to other designers.

FS: What makes a design successful?
BOM: In my opinion, a new idea is being translated Smooth, clear and beautiful style

FS: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?
BOM: The message required of the design to convey it to the community

FS: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?
BOM: The designer is the maker of very beautiful messages that invite people to understand

FS: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?
BOM: Design has always been the pioneer in the world of beauty It is developed by the encouragement of the creative designer and his commitment by the state or major companies to support the designer to devote himself to teaching others the art of creativity

FS: When was your last exhibition and where was it? And when do you want to hold your next exhibition?
BOM: My last private exhibition was in Jordan in 2019 I came to Turkey a year and a half ago and was unable to hold my first exhibition in Turkey due to the lack of money and the Corona epidemic For the information: I was the first in science in this new art Kaligraphics I hope that I can soon I now own 130 paintings in different styles

FS: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?
BOM: I do visual nutrition from nature, as I am a person who loves to live among the bosom of nature, as well as visual nutrition through my vision of the work of creative artists from the world. From photographers, calligraphers, illustrators and designers

FS: How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design?
BOM: The most distinctive feature of my designs is the Arabic lettering and my use of old wall pictures

FS: Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?
BOM: Yes, and wherever there is heritage and originality, there is creativity and beauty in design

FS: What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer?
BOM: The designer must be tested to see if he is able to communicate the company’s message to clients, is he successful in that Unfortunately, Arab companies are looking for a cheap designer in order to save money

FS: Could you please share some pearls of wisdom for young designers? What are your suggestions to young, up and coming designers?
BOM: The new youth should expand his circle of technical knowledge, and he must learn from others. Whenever he learns something new, he must thank and continue learning and move away from arrogance, self-admiration and arrogance.

FS: From your perspective, what would you say are some positives and negatives of being a designer?
BOM: The computer turned the scale. It made a revolution in the world of design, but it also had its drawbacks because it opened the way for imitators who steal the work of others.

FS: What is your "golden rule" in design?
BOM: I understand the message required from the design

FS: What skills are most important for a designer?
BOM: The skill of jumping over obstacles during the execution of the work

FS: Which tools do you use during design? What is inside your toolbox? Such as software, application, hardware, books, sources of inspiration etc.?
BOM: Computer, wooden pens, brush, ink, and colors

FS: What is the most frequently asked question to you, as a designer?
BOM: How did this beauty work

FS: What type of design work do you enjoy the most and why?
BOM: Artboards because it is heaven in the world

FS: What are your future plans? What is next for you?
BOM: I tried to communicate with Adobe to develop one of its programs, which is the Illustrator program to serve the Arabic letter as a calligrapher, but I stopped I hope to spread this beautiful art all over the world for free

FS: Do you work as a team, or do you develop your designs yourself?
BOM: Myself

FS: Do you have any works-in-progress being designed that you would like to talk about?
BOM: I hope to find a party that supports me to implement my beautiful goal, which is to spread this art to the world, so that love can spread and peace spread on the earth
