Interview with Binomio Taller

Home > Designer Interviews > Binomio Taller

Editor Frank Scott (FS) from DesignPRWire has interviewed designer Binomio Taller (BT) for A’ Design Award and Competition. You can access the full profile of Binomio Taller by clicking here.

Interview with Binomio Taller at Friday 1st of May 2020

FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
BT: Binomio was created under the premise that architecture and interior design are one and the same, and should be tackled from the first conception of each Project. Every Project we design is integral from start to finish, from the frist line drawn to the last detail of construction.

FS: When do you feel the most creative?
BT: In the middle of the night.

FS: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?
BT: First of all is the user, who will eventually inhabit the space. Second is having a strong concept, the Project will flow from there.

FS: What makes a design successful?
BT: Accomplishing it’s initial purpose.

FS: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?
BT: Making design accesible to everyone, considering the future of upcoming generations and how the changes we make today can affect their future.

FS: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?
BT: Inspiration comes from everywhere. From the client, the context, nature, art, culture.

FS: How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design?
BT: We don’t believe in design styles per se. We believe in resolving each Project individually in a way that it is unique and adapts to the context that the Project is in.

FS: Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?
BT: México. We’re a country that is very rich in culture and we take inspiration conceptually from our heritage.

FS: What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer?
BT: Our suggestion is that you make a good research of the portfolio of te designer and see if their work speaks to you for that specific project.

FS: Could you please share some pearls of wisdom for young designers? What are your suggestions to young, up and coming designers?
BT: Gain experience in the work field from a very young age and keep up with what’s happening in the world.

FS: What is your "golden rule" in design?
BT: Concept.

FS: Do you work as a team, or do you develop your designs yourself?
BT: Binomio believes strongly in team work and multi-disciplinary projects.

FS: How can people contact you?
BT: Via e-mail or through any of our social media pages.

FS: Thank you for providing us with this opportunity to interview you.
