FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
YK: Ever since I was young, I liked to draw. As I grew up, I became more interested in art. I like all the designs of UX, UI and Graphic, but I especially like Disney animations and have a lot of interest in character design and illustration.
FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
YK: THENEW is an art platform company that conducts art content production and collaboration, art product production, and incubation business for fostering up-and-coming artists.
FS: What is "design" for you?
YK: Design is communication and thought. It expresses the worker's thoughts and intentions and conveys it to the other party. Work will contain the emotions and thoughts of the worker. Especially if it is made for commercial use more noticeable. Delivering a message means literally delivering the message. In other words, knowing what a person needs. For users who will use the design, it will respond with the most useful and satisfying results. Not only that, but also better direction.
FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most?
YK: animation
FS: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?
YK: I think Disney and Pixar's work processes and design styles are great.
FS: What was the first thing you designed for a company?
YK: map banner design of DAUM(Korean internet portal co.)
