FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
NX: 1. When I was a child, I became interested in painting. As a junior high school art student, I attended the training of Sichuan Academy of fine arts. In the University, I studied environmental art in Southwest University for nationalities. After graduation, I worked in the field of interior design for 9 years. 2. I have a long-term understanding of the design field and hope to become a designer like Zaha. 3. I will always strive to be a designer.

FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
NX: Yini design company is a new and advanced interior design company in China. It is very famous in the design field of Chongqing, China. The innovation of design style is greater than that of traditional design, and has been recognized by customers with different design highlights.

FS: What is "design" for you?
NX: Design is an idea, a way to change the vision, comfort, function and efficiency of the original things through design, and it is a spiritual activity to promote social development.

FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most?
NX: I like interior space design best, facing various challenges in details and materials to make users more satisfied and like the space.

FS: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?
NX: I like Zaha Hadid's bold use of space and geometry.

FS: What was the first thing you designed for a company?
NX: Is the office design, for the company to design a brilliant visual style and reasonable space.

FS: When do you feel the most creative?
NX: The process of design thinking is the most creative, often in order to highlight a design scheme, constantly mining the direction of creativity.

FS: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?
NX: In the process of design, I will pay more attention to the design logic, visual expression, cultural expression, material application, details processing in the design scheme, etc., which is a problem that designers must pay attention to.

FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?
NX: It's a kind of happy mood, focusing on design tasks, just like carving a piece of art, and the heart is full of happy mood.

FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized?
NX: It's a sense of achievement. She is the designer's necessary goal and motive force for her own efforts and others' recognition.

FS: What makes a design successful?
NX: I think to make the design successful, we must have the cognitive ability of beauty, which is higher than the aesthetic of ordinary people. Second, make bold use of imagination, strictly and perfectly landing.

FS: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?
NX: Overall consideration, space, color, lighting, furniture, green should have a unified layout. First of all, it meets the requirements of rationality and practicability, and then considers the aesthetic effect.

FS: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?
NX: The designer's social responsibility is to create design works to promote social progress and development, to convey a correct way of life and social concept; the environmental responsibility is to adopt green design, establish a sustainable development mode, so that the concept of green, low-carbon and environmental protection is widely used in indoor design.

FS: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?
NX: With the continuous progress of artificial intelligence and virtual scene technology, low-end interior design, such as the design of ordinary apartments, will gradually be replaced by the model of machine-aided, DIY owners, a large number of ordinary home decoration designers will lose their jobs, and traditional home decoration companies will gradually die out. The remaining designers will continue to engage in high-end personalized residential decoration design and public place design, and some will switch to product design. The development of technology will squeeze out the design work with low technology content. The truly creative design work will still be carried out by human beings. In this field, in a limited period of time, machines can not replace human beings, unless one day, human beings understand the operation mechanism of their own brain.

FS: When was your last exhibition and where was it? And when do you want to hold your next exhibition?
NX: The last exhibition was held in August 2019 in the underground parking lot of Chongqing, China. By the way of projection technology combined with immersive musical performance, the underground garage image exhibition was presented. The next exhibition will be held in October 2020.

FS: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?
NX: The inspiration comes from the elements of future technology in the movies star wars, interstellar space and astronaut. By reading books or watching the works of other designers in different cities, I will gain new creativity. Inspiration comes from thinking about different things and building new designs.

FS: How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design?
NX: My design style is individuation. It's the fashion trend element that makes me explore more about this style. My style feature is the style form of art combined with fashion trend. The design method is the design logic of art culture.

FS: Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?
NX: I live in China, and Chinese cultural heritage will affect my design, because Chinese culture has become a part of international culture, and more people like Chinese culture. Chinese culture has regional culture and limitation in design.

FS: How do you work with companies?
NX: I am in charge of the company and design.

FS: What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer?
NX: It is suggested that the company should give designers enough time to create a good design work. In a short time, the design will be completed in a hurry, and there will be many design deficiencies. When the company selects an excellent designer, it first looks at his previous design works, which will reflect the designer's design concept, design language, design logic and aesthetic ability; secondly, it looks at the designer's personality, which determines the design's professional ethics.

FS: Can you talk a little about your design process?
NX: First of all, communicate with the owner about the design demands, formulate the style concept scheme and layout plan according to the demands, then deepen the effect drawing scheme, and finally formulate the deepening of the construction drawing scheme.

FS: What are 5 of your favorite design items at home?
NX: Catering project design, hotel project design, office project design, hospital project design, shopping mall project design;

FS: Can you describe a day in your life?
NX: I like to exercise in the morning, such as swimming. In the afternoon, I go to hip hop dance. In the evening, I like watching movies and getting new inspiration from them.

FS: Could you please share some pearls of wisdom for young designers? What are your suggestions to young, up and coming designers?
NX: I suggest that young designers should practice more while keeping reading habits, and learn, verify and reflect more in actual projects. At this stage, the actual operation brings more value. Be sure to remember: absorb knowledge, think independently, judge carefully and act boldly.

FS: What skills are most important for a designer?
NX: Hand drawing skills, aesthetic ability, spatial thinking ability, size control ability, etc

FS: Which tools do you use during design? What is inside your toolbox? Such as software, application, hardware, books, sources of inspiration etc.?
NX: In the design process, I will use Photoshop software, SketchUp software, AutoCAD software, etc

FS: Designing can sometimes be a really time consuming task, how do you manage your time?
NX: Design project time management table will be developed to complete the work according to each stage to avoid inefficient work. Only efficient work logic can reduce time-consuming.

FS: How long does it take to design an object from beginning to end?
NX: According to different design areas and design demands, the design time will be different. Projects with small area will be completed in one month, and projects with large area will be completed in three months;

FS: What is the most frequently asked question to you, as a designer?
NX: Design purpose, design logic and design language;

FS: What was your most important job experience?
NX: After graduation in a landscape design company to achieve, every day to draw a large number of intention to draw drawings, that period of time trained in hand drawing skills.

FS: Who are some of your clients?
NX: My clients come from: real estate industry, catering industry, hotel industry, hospital industry, etc,

FS: What type of design work do you enjoy the most and why?
NX: Most like the interior space design works with cool cultural visual style, strong visual impact, as well as the extension of fashion trend culture, let designers pursue this craze.

FS: What are your future plans? What is next for you?
NX: In the future, I plan to become a famous designer in the world, and in the near future, I plan to become a famous designer in China.

FS: Do you work as a team, or do you develop your designs yourself?
NX: Self developed design

FS: Do you have any works-in-progress being designed that you would like to talk about?
NX: No works to talk about at present
