FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
KF: After graduating from Nagoya University of Arts, I worked as an illustrator and designer in Tokyo.
FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
KF: Taki Corporation is a Japanese production company. It is the largest independent production company in Japan.
FS: What is "design" for you?
KF: Design is to design. Designing to achieve a goal.
FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most?
KF: Something that helps to solve a social issue.
FS: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?
KF: A design that is both fun and beautiful.
FS: What was the first thing you designed for a company?
KF: Design of ads for car magazines.
FS: What makes a design successful?
KF: To get the problem right.
FS: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?
KF: Is the system easy to understand for all people?
FS: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?
KF: Support for those who work for society and the environment. To create and experience the world we aim to create.
FS: Do you have any works-in-progress being designed that you would like to talk about?
KF: Designing a town with a mural that will be public art.
