Interview with Juntao Liu at Monday 4th of May 2020 FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer? JL: Love is the best motive force, also only love drive themselves to continue. FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio? JL: A small team of 7 people, hoping to establish a small and beautiful best combination, team members to learn together, collaboration. FS: What is "design" for you? JL: In essence, design is a problem solving process, starting from the problem, to solve the problem. FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most? JL: Minimalist design work FS: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it? JL: Less is more FS: What was the first thing you designed for a company? JL: Establish a complete visual recognition system FS: What is your favorite material / platform / technology? JL: Natural, natural, no design FS: When do you feel the most creative? JL: At night, alone time, it's easier to think FS: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing? JL: Focus more on whether this design is the most appropriate, appropriate choice? And when do you want to hold your next exhibition? JL: I have not formed my own design style, but I always hope that my design is a design with emotion and temperature FS: Where do you live? JL: Xi 'an, China, is a country with a splendid culture. What are your suggestions to young, up and coming designers? JL: Life is a process of continuous learning, only continuous learning to become the one you want to be FS: From your perspective, what would you say are some positives and negatives of being a designer? JL: The positive impact is professional and social recognition through design, the negative impact is not FS: What is your "golden rule" in design? JL: Less is more,Good Design is as Little Design as Possible FS: What skills are most important for a designer? JL: Ability to accurately judge design propositions FS: Which tools do you use during design? What is inside your toolbox? Such as software, application, hardware, books, sources of inspiration etc.? JL: I often try to participate in the design process by hand. I hope there will be more books in the design process. FS: Designing can sometimes be a really time consuming task, how do you manage your time? JL: During the design process, I tend to spend more time thinking about the design, and then I will spend a reasonable amount of time to execute the design idea after the mature thinking FS: How long does it take to design an object from beginning to end? JL: Owing to the different things FS: What is the most frequently asked question to you, as a designer? JL: How to solve design problems through design FS: What was your most important job experience? JL: The most important experience is working in both advertising and design companies and then benefiting from the two different corporate cultures FS: Who are some of your clients? JL: Shaanxi grand theatre, xi 'an concert hall, xi 'an art museum... FS: What type of design work do you enjoy the most and why? JL: Minimalist design work FS: What are your future plans? What is next for you? JL: In the future, I hope I can be more involved in the design of different fields such as plane, space, exhibition and products, and I am currently involved in the design of space projects FS: Do you work as a team, or do you develop your designs yourself?
