Interview with Amir Cherni at Wednesday 13th of February 2019 FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer? AC: In 2001, I went to Canada where I accidentally landed in the interior design field. I was enrolled to study in an automotive mechanics program but when I arrived I discovered that following a non-confirmation I had lost my place in that program so I chose to follow an interior design class which was the last available course. However, by graduation, I was seduced by the specialty. Due to my poor drawing skills, I was a lot more interested in 3D visualization which then became my main concept creation tool. My career started as a junior interior designer in a design agency where I had the opportunity to work on several projects and increase my 3D creative skills. After a few years, I created my own design studio specializing in luxury residential projects as well as catering. I was, however, increasingly attracted to the world of the 3D, the thing that pushed me to specialize in architectural rendering. The outcome of this passion was the creation of a training platform dedicated to architectural visualization and one of the first online Chaos Group | Vray authorized training centers www.illuminance.tn. FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio? AC: I manage tow studio Illuminance which is an online training center specialized in the Architectural Visualisation Cube + which is a Visualisation Studio FS: What is "design" for you? AC: creativity FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most? AC: I love creating moods so that makes me a lot more efficient in residential and hospitality projects. FS: What was the first thing you designed for a company? AC: Exhibition Stand FS: What is your favorite material / platform / technology? AC: photorealistic 3d visualization. FS: When do you feel the most creative? AC: By night when most people are sleeping. FS: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing? AC: creation of the interior mood. FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design? AC: Calmness
