Interview with Andrea Caucino at Saturday 25th of May 2019 FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer? AC: I remember when I was a child I had a passion for art and I saw in the paintings the representation of the artist's state of mind in that precise moment of his life, something that probably a few days later would have been painted differently. This is how my passion was born, a journey in search of future creative languages. FS: What is "design" for you? AC: Design is the creative vision of the future living in the present. FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most? AC: I like to design complete brand design communication systems rather than single corporate materials. FS: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it? AC: I love strict and minimalist design with a very strong creative idea inside, Swiss design is the best example to me. FS: What was the first thing you designed for a company? AC: My first job was a logo for a local construction company. FS: What is your favorite material / platform / technology? AC: Web design has achieved a considerable relevance in these years. I love the contamination between web and print design. FS: When do you feel the most creative? AC: There is’nt a precise moment, sometimes I feel creative when I am stimulated by external factors. FS: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing? AC: First of all i try to understand the product and the company I'm working on, to get a simplified and clever creative solution. FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design? AC: Love and passion for what I do always lead to a unique creative solution. FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized? AC: I like to think that good ideas help to make a better world. FS: What makes a design successful? AC: Success comes from people, from the degree of understanding of your project and the immediacy of your message FS: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first? AC: I like to see first of all an innovative idea and then the graphic language, a set of different and harmonious elements mixed together FS: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design? AC: Man will always be the father of all creative ideas, technology will never be able to carry out this task for us. FS: How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design? AC: I love a clean and elegant style, I love well balanced typographic weights, I always try to remove elements from a page rather than add something. FS: What skills are most important for a designer? AC: Cleverness, research, stay up to date with new technologies and a fvery lexible mind. FS: Do you work as a team, or do you develop your designs yourself? AC: I work in a team with which I create ideas and new brand design materials FS: How can people contact you? AC: An Email contact is preferred
