FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
SC: Not everyone is doomed to a future career from the very beginning, but I was also exposed to the beauty of design by an accidental opportunity, so I chose to give up the original job and re-enter the university for continuous research. It is my love for design and persistent pursuit of perfection that make my design recognized and loved by everyone.
FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
SC: The company was established in June 2017 and now has 30 employees. They are all young people who love and pursue design as much as I do. They are very energetic, so our works are extended all over the world.
FS: What is "design" for you?
SC: In my opinion, design endows space with soul through planning, and design is the language of space.
FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most?
SC: A quality space makes you willing to indulge in her beauty, and a soul space makes you willing to explore her story.
FS: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?
SC: I will not use a fixed way to express the space, each space has its own temperament, continuous innovation and exploration in order to express more perfect.
FS: When do you feel the most creative?
SC: I will release all the pictures in my mind in the late night, the silent night sky can present the passion of collision.
FS: What makes a design successful?
SC: I believe that every successful designer has a love and persistence for design. A good design is not only in the mind and not on paper, but a complete carrier, which needs more is the owner's support for the design and understanding and recognition of the designer.
FS: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?
SC: Design serves the society and serves people. Good design brings help and pleasure to people and social progress.
FS: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?
SC: Designers link spiritual civilization and material bridge, design to transform the world, improve the environment for us to improve the quality of life. The development of human being is from the survival consciousness to the environmental consciousness.
FS: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?
SC: All existing things, culture, can give different creative inspiration in specific needs. However, it is the power to support the design that how to make these pictures or scenes in the mind generate creative sparks to be realized in the appropriate demand space and become the new space logo.
FS: Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?
SC: I am a country in the 5000 - year - old Chinese designer, my country has a profound historical connotation, regardless of national boundaries, but I think the design is not restricted by environment, implicit expression in the culture of different countries with different styles, each region of the living environment will make the design can be better integrated into the national culture, different culture is attracting the love of design exploration and learning.
