FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
HTH: Huang Hsuan Ting, a Taiwanese designer, specializing furniture design, interior design and collaborations with craftsman and architects. Focus on various material-related experiments with pure functional and aesthetic features.Working through amount of whole new fields beyond my majors to fulfill my design ability with multiple aspects and disciplines.

FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
HTH: Focus on various material-related experiments with pure functional and aesthetic features.

FS: What is "design" for you?
HTH: a joyful experiment

FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most?
HTH: material-related experiments and artisan furniture

FS: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?
HTH: those inconspicuous but yet classic design

FS: What was the first thing you designed for a company?
HTH: Brand design, design strategy

FS: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?
HTH: metal / rattan

FS: When do you feel the most creative?
HTH: when i am in the early morning

FS: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?
HTH: material features and upcycle

FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?
HTH: dynamic

FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized?
HTH: delighted

FS: What makes a design successful?
HTH: confidence

FS: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?
HTH: intention of a design

FS: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?
HTH: we need to create something without waste of resources

FS: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?
HTH: In the future, everyone can be a designer if you are willing to solve problems in our daily life.

FS: When was your last exhibition and where was it? And when do you want to hold your next exhibition?
HTH: 2015 in Taipei World Trade Center2019

FS: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?
HTH: in my daily lifeand I will focus on up-cycle design and how can i complete my design work with no waste

FS: How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design?
HTH: Focus on various material-related experiments with pure functional and aesthetic features.

FS: Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?
HTH: I live in Taipei, and I like to discover assorted traditional materials and crafts in my hometown.

FS: How do you work with companies?
HTH: ample communication and empathy

FS: What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer?
HTH: ample communication, empathy and sense of observation

FS: Can you talk a little about your design process?
HTH: I always observe my daily life and find some problems, then design with deductive logic to solve them.

FS: What are 5 of your favorite design items at home?
HTH: Iphone

FS: Can you describe a day in your life?
HTH: discover, think, play, hangout with friends

FS: Could you please share some pearls of wisdom for young designers? What are your suggestions to young, up and coming designers?
HTH: Beautiful things can attract people, but only those things that are sincerely reflective can touch people's hearts.

FS: From your perspective, what would you say are some positives and negatives of being a designer?

FS: What is your "golden rule" in design?

FS: What skills are most important for a designer?
HTH: hand model

FS: Which tools do you use during design? What is inside your toolbox? Such as software, application, hardware, books, sources of inspiration etc.?
HTH: I always do it by hands

FS: Designing can sometimes be a really time consuming task, how do you manage your time?
HTH: make a precise schedule

FS: How long does it take to design an object from beginning to end?
HTH: almost 3 months

FS: What is the most frequently asked question to you, as a designer?
HTH: How do you come up with the fascinated ideas?

FS: What was your most important job experience?
HTH: brand design

FS: Who are some of your clients?
HTH: traditional factory

FS: What type of design work do you enjoy the most and why?
HTH: experiments and up-cycle design
