Interview with Peng Su at Monday 22nd of October 2018
Peng Su
FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
PS: The original intention was to be a simple creative person, like a designer or illustrator. But with the constant understanding of the creative industry, found to control the overall direction of creative work, such as creative directors. But there is a conflict between creativity and management in projects that work with business partners as a creative director. Therefore, it is only their own to open a company in line with their ideals. Later, when I think about it, it may be my own idealism that determines it.

FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
PS: SUSUART.CNThe shape of the symbol represents the objective scientific understanding of human beings and the schemata of our material attributes. The combination of the two implies the understanding of human nature. Also displays the design art work to the human nature complete expression.

FS: What is "design" for you?
PS: Design comes from life, art comes from heart

FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most?
PS: We appreciate the work in the commercial value at the same time reflects the spirit of human values (beauty, truth, justice, etc.) tireless pursuit.

FS: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?
PS: The co-existence of commercial and artistic design is what I have always liked, and it is also the direction and goal that I have been striving for.

FS: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?
PS: In fact, materials are not limited to the direction of designers, a good design should know how to cross-media design

FS: When do you feel the most creative?
PS: Creativity is not inspiration. Unprofessional people need inspiration. Professional designers should be creative at all times

FS: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?
PS: Early design is what I think is important. Research and understanding of what you are going to do with the design of nutrition is the most important thing.

FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized?
PS: Excitement, one product at a time. She's like a child to you. Cherish the excitement.

FS: What makes a design successful?
PS: Accumulate / look / think about the principles that make a design successful

FS: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?
PS: What the design expresses, whether it is expressed by the design or not. If so, this is a complete design. On top of that, you can be moved, and that's a good design.

FS: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?
PS: The works we are taking part in the competition are made of environmentally friendly materials. Renewable paper will not cause too much damage to nature. Sometimes I think I should not design a new product, but to redesign an old product. The earth is faced with a large number of useless designs every day. So I think designers should do some useful to this society, environmental protection design. It's our responsibility.

FS: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?
PS: This problem has been bothering me for a long time in the early days of my career. Now I will give my clients professional solutions and advice, but from the point of view of the nature of the service, it is up to the customers to decide. Because the customer to their own development and marketing of the overall plan of control or the clearest. But in the actual work, the design company makes the service scope enough clear, the work also sufficiently specialized words, with customer's communication also does not have too big question.

FS: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?
PS: Learning is my inspiration.

FS: How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design?
PS: Design style is not fixed, different from the project, you correspond to the design field should also change

FS: Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?
PS: Design industry does not exist in isolation, it is closely related to the economic environment, so to look at the trend of development should first look at the economic development of the city, especially high-end design companies, in fact, such a company is with a metaphysical color. With good wishes for the motherland, hehe ~ this is the lyrics.Chinese traditional culture is broad and profound. Western learning and Chinese use is the goal I have been pursuing.

FS: What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer?
PS: Pay great attention to the accumulation of their own actual combat capabilities and market sensitivity to improve, aimed at providing customers with more systematic brand management, brand professional design and more systematic solutions.

FS: Thank you for providing us with this opportunity to interview you.
