Interview with Ertunc Vatanperver at Monday 24th of April 2017 FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer? EV: I studied interior architecture at Maltepe University. Later, I attended Milanoda NABA's interior architecture certificate program. I have an architectural firm right now. My Target was also clear when I was a kid, to do new things, to find new ideas ... FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio? EV: The company offers interior design, product design and architectural presentation services. I have an innovative and exciting team. FS: What is "design" for you? EV: Life itself. FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most? EV: All designs that are intelligently designed, touching the soul of the human being. FS: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it? EV: Screw design, You do not have to tell too much, Lift the screw design out of the world, many things will not be created. FS: What was the first thing you designed for a company? EV: Fork knife Spoon FS: What is your favorite material / platform / technology? EV: I like to use a computer while I work, and I like to use a 3d printer. FS: When do you feel the most creative? EV: When I'm alone. FS: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing? EV: Think with all aspects, emotional impact function, production cost, etc. FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design? EV: Pleasure, heal, happiness ... FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized? EV: Pleasure, heal, happiness ... FS: What makes a design successful? EV: To be remembered for many years, to be innovative in every age... FS: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first? EV: I do not have a formula. There is a lot of factors to have a bad design, the color texture functionality starting from the aesthetic direction ... this question is too long in response :) FS: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment? EV: All designs are about people, because everything in our circle interacts with us. Even if we make a design for animals, the result is again touching humans. It is a very philosophical expression. :) FS: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design? EV: It might be better, I hope it will be even more colorful with internet and 3d printers. FS: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations? EV: Observation and hard work. FS: How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design? EV: intelligent, simple FS: Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country? EV: I live in Turkey, No the place I live does not affect me. The world affects me, the world is now your home with new age communication tools. FS: How do you work with companies? EV: They say their request, we give more. :) FS: What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer?
