FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
MN: Because I thought one would like to give delight to a person at designed space from the impression when having made a secondhand apartment over, buying it and having got space on the concerned street.

FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
MN: You can use combination of the texture which feels warmth and the interesting color for the material in present-day various scenes using the Kurume cotton cloth with a splashed pattern which are traditional arts and crafts while enjoying oneself.

FS: What is "design" for you?
MN: Something the life is made abundant in which

FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most?
MN: Something to have functionality and be loved for a long time

FS: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?
MN: Kimono, Kimono sash and homespun cloth

FS: What was the first thing you designed for a company?
MN: Japanese cushion

FS: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?
MN: Cloth, Japanese paper and bamboo

FS: When do you feel the most creative?
MN: Time when mind has gentle plenty of room

FS: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?
MN: The durability, the simple shape and functionality

FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?
MN: Mind is gentle.

FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized?
MN: The feeling of achievement and euphoria

FS: What makes a design successful?
MN: The feeling that I'd like always to offer something appreciated to person's purpose

FS: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?
MN: Convenient good or bad and beauty which harmonizes with daily life

FS: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?
MN: I don't dispose of a thing and tell importance of keeping using it for a long time.

FS: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?
MN: The daily life is made abundant in future with the design, and prompts a person to be conscious and behave.

FS: When was your last exhibition and where was it? And when do you want to hold your next exhibition?
MN: November, 2015 Interior Lifestyle Living

FS: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?
MN: Enjoyment of a European movie and the interior color used in the movie

FS: How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design?
MN: Choice and combination with the color of the fabric which was added to the shape and the use refined simply

FS: Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?
MN: Japan, Tokyo and kimono

FS: How do you work with companies?
MN: Event submitting of period limitation

FS: What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer?
MN: Good of the Japanese traditional arts and crafts

FS: Can you talk a little about your design process?
MN: For whom you design is decided and the purpose is made clear.

FS: What are 5 of your favorite design items at home?
MN: Sewing machine and single-lens reflex camera

FS: Can you describe a day in your life?
MN: The morning which cleared up

FS: Could you please share some pearls of wisdom for young designers? What are your suggestions to young, up and coming designers?
MN: See something various, and understand what your favorite one is.

FS: From your perspective, what would you say are some positives and negatives of being a designer?
MN: To take out originality and to take out the profit as a business

FS: What is your "golden rule" in design?
MN: Combination of choice of the material and the color

FS: What skills are most important for a designer?
MN: Curiosity and challenge spirit

FS: Which tools do you use during design? What is inside your toolbox? Such as software, application, hardware, books, sources of inspiration etc.?
MN: Library, art museum and movie

FS: Designing can sometimes be a really time consuming task, how do you manage your time?
MN: Library, art museum and movie

FS: How long does it take to design an object from beginning to end?
MN: 6 months

FS: What is the most frequently asked question to you, as a designer?
MN: The former background

FS: What was your most important job experience?
MN: Styling of advertisement photography

FS: Who are some of your clients?
MN: Department store

FS: What type of design work do you enjoy the most and why?
MN: I design according to the present-day living style using Japanese traditional arts and crafts.

FS: What are your future plans? What is next for you?
MN: The community bass rooted in an area, the supervision which is the interior using traditional arts and crafts

FS: Do you work as a team, or do you develop your designs yourself?
MN: The design is developed by itself.

FS: Do you have any works-in-progress being designed that you would like to talk about?
MN: Spatial production in a hotel and a Japanese-style hotel
