FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
MB: We have constantly felt the impact of great design throughout our lives. Although the members of Radiant Creatives hail from diverse fields of discipline, they all consider themselves designers of new ideas and experiences.
FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
MB: Radiant is a collection of creatives in branding and design who strive for highly modern and focused standards in their fields of expertise.We never avoid experimentation with new concepts that could ultimately serve as benchmarks for bold and innovative new ideas.
FS: What is "design" for you?
MB: Design is the conveying of human emotion and intelligence through inanimate objects and other medium. It is the offspring of art and science.
FS: What was the first thing you designed for a company?
MB: Since our primary and active field is branding and creating visual identities, our first work was a corporate visual identity guide for a private company in our city. It was indeed a challenging first work but more so than the pressure of deadlines and work, it was the excitement and energy of being in a team we cared about that lead us to great final results and our first successful work.
FS: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?
MB: Our current preferences are in purely digital format. However we are also proficient at print and sound production. We are always looking to expand our digital platform horizons in order to create more exciting services and experiences.
FS: When do you feel the most creative?
MB: Whenever we're doing a project, it's because we feel that we can do something new and creative about it and we always keep a fresh mindset about it. Feeling creative is about liking what we're doing and doing our best at it and here at Radiant Creatives, we all like what we're doing.
FS: Which tools do you use during design? What is inside your toolbox? Such as software, application, hardware, books, sources of inspiration etc.?
MB: Our sources of inspiration are far and wide: from all sorts and genres of music to the classical works of art and literature from around the world. We are admirers of philosophy and psychology and like to study and reflect the emotional and cerebral side of human communication in our designs. Apart from doing hand illustration and conceptualization, we work in software such as: Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw, MODO, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Propellerhead Reason, etc.
FS: How long does it take to design an object from beginning to end?
MB: It generally depends on the object itself and the extent of complexity related to the project. Sometimes it takes a few hours to get the general concept going and in some other occasions it could take several days. Constant brainstorming and individual reflection is needed to create an influential work.
FS: Who are some of your clients?
MB: We have worked with brands such as LG, Pepsi, Red Bull, Birst, Nikon etc.
FS: What are your future plans? What is next for you?
MB: We are always trying to push our boundaries and increase our influences to other fields such as the web, art installations, sound design and technology. Radiant Creatives is all about creating brands that have something new to say not only with their innovative service but also with their looks and corporate design. So whenever you look at a brand we created, it'll feel great inside out.
FS: Do you work as a team, or do you develop your designs yourself?
MB: Radiant Creatives is a joint operation that requires the expertise of several artists and designer from different disciplines in order to work as intended. When we can have a multi-disciplinary team, each with their own field and perspective on a project, there is no need to stretch or strain too much except when it's our own field.
