Interview with Eda Yukseker at Wednesday 20th of April 2016 FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer? EY: In 2012, the 8th National HOME FURNITURE DESIGN COMPETITION , Complementary Furniture Service Personnel, MOSDER Finalist in 2013 , 6th National FURNITURE DESIGN COMPETITION , DESIGN FOR EXPORT -13 Smart Furniture category Mades GOLD SPECIAL Award- ISTANBUL EXPORTERS 'ASSOCIATION has received awards FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio? EY: Eda Yukseker and Seyma Guven established Marvel Ic Mimarlik in Istanbul in 2016, focused on interior projects with product and furniture design. One of the leading target for Marvel Interior Design is converting the creative, inspirational, original and trendsetter projects and designs into functional and high quality applications to suit with their individual and institutional customers. Marvel Interior Design recognize the most important element of their work as people. The people to work with, collaborate with, create unique environments with, and dream and live with. Scope of Marvel's work is to express the autonomous personality of each space briefly. Passion is in creating memorable interior design that will leave a lasting impression. The mission is to create environments that fascinates from every aspect. Aesthetic, practical, commercial, experiential. They achieve this by applying intelligence and by developing a personal vision for every to design project. Setting the most uncompromising standards and working side by side with their clients to bring that vision to life. Marvel's attention to sub details from concept stage to completion consistently provides their clients with extremely desired interiors. Spacial planning, detailed drawing, lighting design, product and full material specification are all basics to their design process, presenting to clients with transparent costings for approval. FS: What is "design" for you? EY: An event that has been detected or consciousness in the subsequent image of the object FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most? EY: libraries, art 's Gallery FS: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it? EY: we really like zaha hadid designs because they are very unique FS: What was the first thing you designed for a company? EY: wall clock FS: What is your favorite material / platform / technology? EY: mirror, glass, reflector FS: When do you feel the most creative? EY: dead of night FS: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing? EY: We focus on feel-good feelings and images FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design? EY: excitement, reveal FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized? EY: We live in the joy of being able to share FS: What makes a design successful? EY: create excitement and give people the good feelings FS: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first? EY: Feel bad emotions, uncomfortable and functionless FS: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment? EY: all members of society , children, the elderly , the disabled and the animals and plants , taking into consideration to design FS: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design? EY: better control of natural resources and energy will be important to use designs FS: When was your last exhibition and where was it? And when do you want to hold your next exhibition? EY: MOSDER furniture exhibition contest in Istanbul in 2013 FS: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations? EY: travel , nature, science , documentaries and books FS: How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design? EY: innovative , thought-provoking , humorous FS: Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country? EY: We live in the city of Istanbul is a bridge between east and west . FS: How do you work with companies? EY: health companies
