Editor Frank Scott (FS) from DesignPRWire has interviewed designer Pradnya Phadke (PP) for A’ Design Award and Competition. You can access the full profile of Pradnya Phadke by clicking here.

Interview with Pradnya Phadke at Wednesday 21st of January 2015
Pradnyaa Phadke
FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
PP: I started Brandlore as a network of talented designers from various parts of the world. The talents are gathered on a projects according to their expertise and requirement of the project. Each one of us has a different cultural background that we learn from, distinct surroundings to get inspired from, a story of our own that we bring our ideas from. A mix of such diverse knowledge is a huge potential for an international level or rather any innovative project. We provide solutions from fresh perspectives. With so much diversity the creativity is high and exceptionally innovative.

FS: What was the first thing you designed for a company?
PP: I was very lucky to design a logo of quite a big company called Dabur. I was merely 2 months old in the industry, when I became part of a fab team in the agency where I worked. They were great to me be part of all the projects from start. I learned so much through that process. Eventually one of my designs were actually chosen as the logo of this herbal market giant.

FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized?
PP: I am very critical of my own work. So it actually takes while to accept all the things the way they have turned out. But eventually I am ecstatic, of course!

FS: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?
PP: The design should be able to communicate for itself. Also, functionality is a very important aspect for me. Every element has to have a reason to be part of the design, otherwise it is just clutter.

FS: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?
PP: Designers have the gift to imagine and actually visualise how things would be even before they become reality. That gives them a better capacity to make informed choices. Every design decision has consequence on environment and future. So, I think we have to be highly responsible for all our actions.

FS: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?
PP: It is difficult to point out just one person or design as the influencing factor. In past 12 years of working as a designer; interacting with various clients, designers and creatives; learning something from them all and observing the surroundings... it has all played a part in influencing this design.

FS: Thank you for providing us with this opportunity to interview you.
