Interview with Dr. Wadad AlSuwayeh at Monday 16th of March 2015 FS: What is "design" for you? DWA: Design is the emotion that's inside of me. FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most? DWA: Fine Art Photography FS: What was the first thing you designed for a company? DWA: A logo. FS: What is your favorite material / platform / technology? DWA: I hate technology, I love human features and details and my studio. FS: When do you feel the most creative? DWA: When the subject is in front of me. FS: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing? DWA: Emotion; my Visual Identity. FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design? DWA: Euphoria FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized? DWA: At peace. FS: What makes a design successful? DWA: Emotion. FS: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first? DWA: How the design touched me. FS: Can you describe a day in your life? DWA: Everyday is different. FS: Could you please share some pearls of wisdom for young designers? What are your suggestions to young, up and coming designers? DWA: Go, live and become. FS: What is your "golden rule" in design? DWA: There are no rules. FS: What skills are most important for a designer? DWA: Curiosity. FS: Which tools do you use during design? What is inside your toolbox? Such as software, application, hardware, books, sources of inspiration etc.? DWA: I get inspired by love, laughter music and dance, everything outside and inside of me. I use Canon, Apple, Intous Pro, Profoto, and Adobe Creative Collection. FS: Designing can sometimes be a really time consuming task, how do you manage your time? DWA: I have an agenda in my bag and i use iCal religiously. FS: How long does it take to design an object from beginning to end? DWA: It depends on each project. FS: What is the most frequently asked question to you, as a designer? DWA: "How do you get your ideas?" FS: What are your future plans? What is next for you? DWA: I want to open the first Creative Photography Institute in Kuwait and giving back. I will continue working as a Fine Art Photographer. FS: Do you work as a team, or do you develop your designs yourself? DWA: If it's commissioned work I always work as a team.
