FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
ERL: UNA STORIA CAPSULE Affascinato dalla semplicità e la bellezza delle linee disegnate dai grandi maestri: Gropius, Le Corbusier, Wright, Breuer, Mies, Eames ... Più tardi Starck, Vestuti, Arroyo, Zitman, Ponti. Linee Wonder Genie riassumendo l'arte, la bellezza, la funzione e la forma. A 20-year-old comincia a sognare di sedie progettazione che passerà alla storia ... 1978 Primo posto per la Fotografia Gioventù Contest. 1981 Scuola di Design Industriale, Caracas. 1985 Scuola di Ingegneria Industriale, TSU. STATI UNITI D'AMERICA. 1988 Scuola di Marketing, Isum. Caracas 1996 Hotel Tamanaco, National Design Award for Packaging "ANDA" 1998 Il fotografo dei bambini di Caracas. Fotografia più di 30.000 bambini, eseguite centinaia di copertine di riviste, calendari, manifesti e pubblicità. 2005-08 in una collina incontaminata, appena fuori l'est di Caracas, prende la progettazione architettonica e la costruzione della casa, che sarebbe anche la "amache" officina. 2009 impara sé "design applicato" rendendo lettere, giocattoli, utensili, mobili, porte, finestre, per risolvere i problemi di tutti i giorni. Stereoforms evoluzione arte, scultura, forma e bellezza. Manifestare nel mese di ottobre 2013, con la la partecipazione alla "V Biennale Nazionale Scultura" A quel punto aveva già progettato la tabella "Oblique" Quando per la prima volta unisce il legno con tubi in alluminio in eccesso vecchi manufatti. Costantemente sperimentare con sculture in legno in combinazione con tubi di alluminio. Nato mobili a forma di cubo. Legno e alluminio sono assemblati in uno scheletro bella resistenza e rigidità flessionale. Come ogni cosa ha il suo tempo, È giunto il momento sedie ... FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
ERL: LeThermidor is an Engineer & Architect of Design and Photographer, born in Caracas Venezuela. His name represents a brand of high quality arts & crafts solutions. Supplies ranges from several disciplines; furniture, chairs, house utensils, sculpture, adhoc designs, painting, poetry, music and photography.

FS: What is "design" for you?
ERL: i like to think about Design as the means for solving problems with original proposals the simplest the better. Always having beauty and function as main role players

FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most?
ERL: I enjoy design art pieces to sit on, chairs, benches, chaise lounges, but anything that represents a novell challenge is of my interest

FS: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?
ERL: My favorite design has to be the Waterfall House of FLLW. Of My work so far the House/Taller Hamaka in Caracas.

FS: What was the first thing you designed for a company?
ERL: A production Line Layout for a Coca Cola Bottler in San Cristobal, Venezuela.

FS: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?
ERL: Wood & Aluminum

FS: When do you feel the most creative?
ERL: when troubled

FS: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?
ERL: Simplicity, beauty and function

FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?
ERL: I experience a sort of vacuum inside that leaves space for anwers to pop in

FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized?
ERL: Absolut joy like a kid that made a lego

FS: What makes a design successful?
ERL: Surpassing the client expectations on funcionality and beauty

FS: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?
ERL: Functionality, ergonomics, beauty...

FS: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?
ERL: Make the world a better more friendly place mor beautiful and more ecologic

FS: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?
ERL: The future is unlimited as materials and thecnological evolution go on design is always a moving target

FS: When was your last exhibition and where was it? And when do you want to hold your next exhibition?
ERL: The exhibition of winning designs will take place in Ex-Chiesa di San Francesco between the dates 18th of April (Saturday), 2015 and 25th of April (Saturday), 2015. Ex-Chiesa di San Francesco is located at Viale Lorenzo Spallino, 1, 22100, Como / Italy.

FS: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?
ERL: I work in a some how close in form i try to explore inside my self and see how nature responds to similar challenges

FS: How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design?
ERL: I would define my design as intuitive i like to design hands on more than drawing on paper... cutting, making, overlapping.. playing is the way i like to find my anwers

FS: Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?
ERL: right now in Caracas, Venezuela. looking for opportunities to move abroad preferibly to europe.

FS: What are 5 of your favorite design items at home?
ERL: Chairs, Forks and Knives, garden furniture, home theather furniture, leisure furniture

FS: Can you describe a day in your life?
ERL: jajajaja no.... thanks !!!

FS: Could you please share some pearls of wisdom for young designers? What are your suggestions to young, up and coming designers?
ERL: dream and work, sleep, eat dream and work.

FS: What is your "golden rule" in design?
ERL: using my eyes.... as measure of invisible forces

FS: What skills are most important for a designer?
ERL: Visualization, tenacity.

FS: What are your future plans? What is next for you?
ERL: opening and european businees to move abroad
