FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
FCD: I graduated from Tianjin University of Technology in 2011.My major is industrial design.After getting my bachelor degree, I have worked as an industrial designer for about 4 years.I love the beautiful things,I want to become a designer that I can create more useful and beautiful things for people.
FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
FCD: Newplan is a unique local design organization in china, Founded in 2000 the company commits itself to helping global customers promote the competitiveness of brand and product.The professional team which includes more than 400 top designers, technical experts, analysts and planners provide customers with comprehensive solutions that take the competitiveness of brand and product as the core, covering the entire process of product innovation such as market and users study, brand and product planning, product design and industrialization services of design achievements.
FS: What is "design" for you?
FCD: Design can be seeing as interesting when it's for a product, while it will be more meaningful when you try to design for human being.
FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most?
FCD: Everything,which need to be imporved.I love my work, I'd like to design more and more creative products for people.
FS: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?
FCD: Next one is my favorite, always.
FS: What was the first thing you designed for a company?
FCD: My first project is MingLing industrial sewing machine, it tooks more than one year. But encouragingly, this project win the Redstar Award in 2012.
FS: What makes a design successful?
FCD: Rigorous and freedom, I guess.
FS: Can you talk a little about your design process?
FCD: I'd like to create products which have vitality, only chases the purist and most practical design, and uses my full energies to understand the deepest demand of my client and transfer these demand into real product.
FS: What is your "golden rule" in design?
FCD: Reverence for nature, learning from nature.
FS: What skills are most important for a designer?
FCD: Good powers of observation,I think it is very important.
