Interview with Tatyana Raksha at Saturday 22nd of October 2016 FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer? TR: Yes, I always wanted to be a designer. Ever since my childhood I loved art, fashion and design, and since then I devoted my life to drawing and my biggest dream was to become a professional designer. FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio? TR: Professional jewelry designer, creating jewelry more than nine years. With an in-depth knowledge of art jewelry, of manufacturing methods and processes, passionate about fashion and art. "TATYANA RAKSHA IS A DESIGN HERO. Tatyana Raksha is a design hero, Tatyana works hard everyday to make the world a better place with good design. Tatyana is an innovator, a visionary of good design." A'DESIGN AWARD & COMPETITION, Italy. In April 2014 The Great Goddess Isida Diamond Ring by Tatyana Raksha wins Golden A’ Design Award Winner in Jewelry, Eyewear and Watch Design Competition in Italy. In April 2015 Sun’s song Sparkling diamond necklace by Tatyana Raksha wins Golden A’ Design Award Winner in Jewelry, Eyewear and Watch Design Competition in Italy. FS: What is "design" for you? TR: Design is a language of mine that helps me to express myself and make my ideas become reality. FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most? TR: The most I like is to design jewelry embellished with precious stones and especially diamonds. FS: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it? TR: I love all jewelry pieces that I create. Every work has its own idea inspired by a meaning. FS: What was the first thing you designed for a company? TR: It was a white gold ring embellished with diamonds. FS: What is your favorite material / platform / technology? TR: My favorite materials are gold (yellow, pink, white) and diamonds. FS: When do you feel the most creative? TR: I am always in the mood of creativity. It does not matter if it is day or night if I have a splendid idea I immediately start to make sketches. FS: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing? TR: I pay attention to each element in jewelry. Jewelry is a picture in which everything is important and it must be complete. FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design? TR: Joy. FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized? TR: Happiness, it is the greatest feeling to see how an idea bursts into life. FS: What makes a design successful? TR: The idea and its implementation in a high-quality jewelry. FS: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first? TR: At first I consider good aspects. FS: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment? TR: First of all is to be a professional. FS: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design? TR: Design is the future. FS: When was your last exhibition and where was it? And when do you want to hold your next exhibition? TR: 2015, "A' Design Award & Competition", Como / Italy. FS: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations? TR: It's a secret. FS: How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design? TR: My style could be called "A beautiful life with a meaning." FS: Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country? TR: I live in Kiev, Ukraine. Of course, I love my country and cultural heritage of Ukraine is enormous and I’m glad to reflect it partly in my works. FS: How do you work with companies? TR: Professionally. FS: What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer? TR: A good designer first of all must love his work and dedicate all of his time to work. FS: Can you talk a little about your design process? TR: The process of developing jewelry is very interesting and time-consuming. FS: What are 5 of your favorite design items at home? TR: Chair, table, wardrobe, sofa, TV. FS: Can you describe a day in your life? TR: Every day in my life is full of new ideas that I turn into life. FS: Could you please share some pearls of wisdom for young designers? What are your suggestions to young, up and coming designers? TR: You have to spend a lot of time working. FS: From your perspective, what would you say are some positives and negatives of being a designer? TR: Only positives. I see no negatives in my profession and I always try to fill my life only with good feelings, emotions, people. FS: What is your "golden rule" in design? TR: Everything is possible! FS: What skills are most important for a designer? TR: Experience. FS: Which tools do you use during design? What is inside your toolbox? Such as software, application, hardware, books, sources of inspiration etc.? TR: This information is confidential. FS: Designing can sometimes be a really time consuming task, how do you manage your time? TR: I plan my time in such a way so to manage everything. FS: How long does it take to design an object from beginning to end? TR: It is on case by case basis. FS: What is the most frequently asked question to you, as a designer? TR: - Is this possible? FS: What was your most important job experience? TR: The whole experience of my work is important to me. But I must say that the most was at the beginning of my jewelry designer career, when I designed my firs jewelry piece. FS: Who are some of your clients? TR: Successful people from all over the world. FS: What type of design work do you enjoy the most and why? TR: The process of implementation of the idea in a sketch. FS: What are your future plans? What is next for you? TR: My plans for the future to create gorgeous jewelry. FS: Do you work as a team, or do you develop your designs yourself? TR: I develop my designs myself. FS: Do you have any works-in-progress being designed that you would like to talk about? TR: This information is confidential. FS: How can people contact you? TR: Yes, through this website.
