Editor Frank Scott (FS) from DesignPRWire has interviewed designer Sunny Rathod (SR) for A’ Design Award and Competition. You can access the full profile of Sunny Rathod by clicking here.

Interview with Sunny Rathod at Saturday 19th of April 2014
Sunny Rathod
FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
SR: The journey goes back to my childhood. I was fond of drawing in those days. Pencil and colors were my best buddies. Over the years, I realized that I could turn my hobby into profession. This realization inspired me complete Advanced Dual Diploma in Multimedia at the age of 15 only. To increase my knowledge and experience with colors, for a while I also worked in a matching center where colors were the prime focus of female clients! My being of a designer was a pure result of passion turning into profession.

FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
SR: After 14 years of fruitful relationship with the Europe & US based web development company, I decided to hope into my own creation – my own company, a designing studio. My dream – TRIONN DESIGN (www.trionndesign.com) – was thus founded in August, 2012. Trionn Design is a creative studio where art enthusiasts and tech freaks connect over innovative ideas. The award-winning site is awash with bright, bold colors and a gorgeous array of fonts that compliment the artwork perfectly.

FS: What is "design" for you?
SR: Design is My Hobby, My Passion & My Profession :)

FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most?
SR: I find myself more passionate about working in UI/UX of landing page of the website, as it is the 1st impression of the site/your online business etc.

FS: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?
SR: Obviously Trionn Design's Logo. There is a small story behind the meaning of three headed lion logo. In TRIONN, TRI stands for three(3), the trio of Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu & Lord Mahesh, and in Hinduism we call it Trimurti, Tridev or the Trinity. Moreover my former company was named as Trinity Web Tech, in the honour of its name I kept TRI as it is. They say that in Vedic times our saints used to chat this mantra : “Om Namo Narayana”. It has its own deep meaning. So in TRIONN, ONN stands for “Om Namo Narayana”. Now have a glance at Trionn’s logo. You will find 3-headed lion. I am sure that you must be wondering now what’s the connection of lion with word Trionn. Actually as per Hindu mythology, Lord Vishu is popularly regarded as the preserver of the universe and out of his ten avatars, one is Narasimha, which is having a human-like torso and lower body, with a lion-like face and claws. So I opted lion in the logo as a sign of God & strength. As it is TRI so I made 3-headed lion logo, which turns out to be a unique mascot of the company. Altogether it makes TRIONN !

FS: What was the first thing you designed for a company?
SR: Logo/Branding Design.

FS: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?
SR: I prefer Adobe Photoshop to make all web related designing stuff.

FS: When do you feel the most creative?
SR: When i completed my own site "Trionn Design". and i won several design awards.

FS: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?
SR: Well when I make design of the website or web app, my most of focus remains on User Interface and Color combinations.

FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?
SR: I find myself indulged into the world of unlimited colors and shapes.

FS: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?
SR: Well sometimes it’s hard to judge the design as in designing every person has a different point of view. But if you like it, you liked it!

FS: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?
SR: Nowadays nothing is possible without design. Future of Design Field will always be green and at the same time challenging & imaginary, because creativity never comes to an end. Sky is the limit.

FS: What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer?
SR: Most of companies think to hire designer promptly because of the project’s limited budget and limited time. As per my point view, company must give enough time to the designer to show out his/her creativity. After that company can know about creativity of designer and then come to the decision of whether to keep him or not. A designer can not simply be hired over an interview-table and vice versa. Because Creativity & Quality always need some time and designer can not provide unique ideas in limited time.

FS: Could you please share some pearls of wisdom for young designers? What are your suggestions to young, up and coming designers?
SR: As per my knowledge generally designer always doing design take inspiration from the other sites and do the designs. But I would suggest that think yourself in a unique way, use your own creative mind to make design and I'm sure that design will be totally unique and different than others :)

FS: From your perspective, what would you say are some positives and negatives of being a designer?
SR: You can understand its Answer from Answer of Question 25th

FS: What is your "golden rule" in design?
SR: My Golden rule of Design is Love what ever you do and do by heart.

FS: What skills are most important for a designer?
SR: Thinking + Creativity + Imaginations + Color combination sense is the most important for a designer.

FS: Which tools do you use during design? What is inside your toolbox? Such as software, application, hardware, books, sources of inspiration etc.?
SR: Well I use Adobe Photoshop as software. For Testing: some of smart phones and tablets. etc..

FS: What was your most important job experience?
SR: Trionn Design Startup!

FS: Who are some of your clients?
SR: Well I have some clients who have own design agencies.

FS: What type of design work do you enjoy the most and why?
SR: As i mentioned on above question "i would like to make UI/UX of landing page of the website. because 1st impression always of the site/your online business etc. "

FS: What are your future plans? What is next for you?
SR: Well actually future plan is very big. I have dreamt it already. It will be shown on its own :)
